Recipe for Meat and Pea Lasagna
Ingredients:
- 9-12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup green peas (frozen or fresh)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup béchamel sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Pasta: Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add the ground meat, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Mix in the green peas and marinara sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Assemble Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Add a layer of meat sauce, then spoon béchamel sauce over it.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with béchamel sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
