Crispy Cauliflower Balls Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cauliflower head, cut into florets
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (parmesan or your preferred cheese)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower:
    • Wash the cauliflower and cut it into florets.
    • Boil the cauliflower florets in salted water for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Drain well and let cool.
  2. Mash the Cauliflower:
    • Mash the cooked cauliflower using a fork or potato masher until it has a coarse texture.
  3. Mix the Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed cauliflower, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Beat the eggs and add them to the mixture. Mix until it forms a dough-like consistency.
  4. Shape into Balls:
    • Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls (about 1-2 inches in diameter).
  5. Fry the Balls:
    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the cauliflower balls until golden and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking. This usually takes 3-5 minutes per batch.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve:
    • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
    • Serve hot with a dipping sauce like marinara, garlic aioli, or ranch.
