Stuffed Potato Patties with Meat Filling

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

For the Potato Dough:

  • 500g potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup flour (or as needed)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Filling:

  • 250g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

For Frying:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potato Dough:
    • Mash the boiled potatoes with butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
    • Gradually add flour, kneading until you form a soft, pliable dough. Set aside.
  2. Make the Filling:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
    • Add ground meat, cooking until browned and fully cooked.
    • Stir in paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and parsley. Let cool.
  3. Assemble the Patties:
    • Take a small ball of potato dough and flatten it into a circle.
    • Place a spoonful of meat filling in the center. Cover with another circle of dough, sealing the edges.
  4. Cook the Patties:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry the patties until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve hot with a side of salad or yogurt dip.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, add grated cheese to the filling.
  • These patties can be baked instead of fried for a healthier option.
