Garlic Soy Shrimp and Beef Stir-Fry with Colorful Vegetables

Ingredients:

For the Protein:

  • 200g shrimp, deveined and peeled
  • 200g beef (such as sirloin or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized pieces

For the Vegetables:

  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1/4 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for spice)
  • 2 tbsp water

For Serving:

  • Steamed rice or noodles

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch. Add chili flakes if desired. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:
    • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil.
    • Add the shrimp and stir-fry until pink and fully cooked (about 2-3 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef:
    • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Cook the beef pieces until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove and set aside.
  4. Stir-fry the Vegetables:
    • Add a bit more oil if needed. Stir-fry broccoli, bell peppers, and onion for 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
    • Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Combine and Cook:
    • Return the shrimp and beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
    • Pour in the prepared sauce and stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped green onions.
    • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
