Garlic Soy Shrimp and Beef Stir-Fry with Colorful Vegetables
Ingredients:
For the Protein:
- 200g shrimp, deveined and peeled
- 200g beef (such as sirloin or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized pieces
For the Vegetables:
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for spice)
- 2 tbsp water
For Serving:
- Steamed rice or noodles
Instructions:
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch. Add chili flakes if desired. Set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil.
- Add the shrimp and stir-fry until pink and fully cooked (about 2-3 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- Cook the Beef:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Cook the beef pieces until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove and set aside.
- Stir-fry the Vegetables:
- Add a bit more oil if needed. Stir-fry broccoli, bell peppers, and onion for 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
- Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Combine and Cook:
- Return the shrimp and beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
- Pour in the prepared sauce and stir well to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
