This recipe takes the classic brownie to a new level of indulgence by incorporating the flavors of pecan pie. The addition of crunchy pecans and a buttery, caramel-like topping creates a symphony of flavors and textures that will tantalize your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • For the Brownies:*
    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
  • For the Pecan Pie Topping:*
    • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • ¾ cup granulated sugar
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 ½ cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownies:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.   Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
    • Prepare the Pecan Pie Topping:

      • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
      • Stir in the corn syrup, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, and cook for 1 minute.
      • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and pecan halves.
      • Pour the pecan pie topping evenly over the brownie batter.
    • Bake the Brownies:

      • Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
      • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before using the parchment paper overhang to lift them out.
        1. Cut and Serve:

          • Cut the brownies into squares and serve.

        Conclusion

These rich and decadent pecan pie brownies are a delightful treat that combines the best of both worlds. The fudgy, chocolatey goodness of brownies is perfectly complemented by the crunchy pecans and buttery, caramel-like topping of pecan pie. Whether you’re baking for a special occasion or simply want to indulge in a sweet treat, these brownies are sure to impress. Enjoy every bite!
