Peanut Butter Panna Cotta with Crushed Nuts
Ingredients:
- For the Panna Cotta:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup mixed nuts (such as peanuts, almonds, and cashews), crushed
Instructions:
- Prepare the Gelatin:
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over 3 tablespoons of water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
- Heat the Cream Mixture:
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot and the sugar is completely dissolved. Do not let it boil.
- Add the Peanut Butter:
- Stir the peanut butter into the hot cream mixture until it is fully melted and smooth.
- Add the Gelatin:
- Remove the cream mixture from the heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until it is completely dissolved.
- Add Vanilla:
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Strain and Pour:
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pouring jug to ensure a smooth panna cotta. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or ramekins.
- Chill:
- Allow the panna cotta to cool to room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- Prepare the Topping:
- While the panna cotta is chilling, crush the mixed nuts and set them aside.
- Serve:
- Just before serving, sprinkle the crushed nuts over the top of the panna cotta for a delightful crunch.
Enjoy your unique and creamy Peanut Butter Panna Cotta with a delightful nutty topping!
