Bacon-Wrapped Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs

 

Ingredients:

  • For the Meatballs:
    • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
    • 1/2 cup (50g) breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 12 small cubes of cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • For the Wrapping:
    • 12 slices of bacon
  • For the Topping:
    • 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Make the Meatball Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the Meatballs:
    • Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your hand.
    • Place a cube of cheese in the center and wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball. Make sure the cheese is completely covered.
    • Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and cheese cubes to form 12 meatballs.
  4. Wrap with Bacon:
    • Wrap each meatball with a slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
  5. Bake the Meatballs:
    • Place the bacon-wrapped meatballs in a baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Add the Cheese:
    • Remove the meatballs from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
    • Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve:
    • Remove the toothpicks (if used) and garnish the meatballs with chopped fresh parsley.
    • Serve hot as an appetizer or main dish.
