Cheesy Sausage Muffins
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground sausage (breakfast sausage works well)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease with cooking spray.
- Cook the sausage:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked.
- Drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the dry ingredients:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare the wet ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter.
- Combine the ingredients:
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Fill the muffin tin:
- Scoop the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
- Bake the muffins:
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the muffins cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve:
