Cheesy Sausage Muffins

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage (breakfast sausage works well)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease with cooking spray.
  2. Cook the sausage:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked.
    • Drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the dry ingredients:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Prepare the wet ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter.
  5. Combine the ingredients:
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
    • Fold in the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Fill the muffin tin:
    • Scoop the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake the muffins:
    • Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Let the muffins cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Serve:
    • Enjoy these cheesy sausage muffins warm. They’re great as a snack, breakfast option, or party appetizer.
