Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or Italian-style)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If the chicken breasts are thick, you may want to pound them to an even thickness to ensure even cooking.
- Make the Coating:
- In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil or melted butter on both sides.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating adheres well.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Place the coated chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken breasts and continue to cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Serve:
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve warm, perhaps with a side of vegetables, salad, or pasta.
