Big Boy’s Fresh Strawberry Pie
If you’re lucky, you live in a part of the United States where you can go to a Big Boy restaurant. Many of us aren’t lucky enough to live in an area where you can enjoy a deliciously fresh Big Boy Strawberry Shortcake. But you can easily make it at home.
Ingredients
Pie Crust Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 ounces butter, room temperature
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Strawberry Pie Filling Ingredients

1 cup water
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon red food coloring
1 quart strawberries, rinsed, stemmed, and dried
1 quart whipped cream, for decoration
How to Make Big Boy’s Fresh Strawberry Cake
Cake Batter Instructions
Heat oven to 350 degrees F before. Make the crust by mixing together flour, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.Mix well and press into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch cake pan. Click anywhere.
Bake until lightly golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
Strawberry Cake Filling Instructions

While the base is baking, stir together the water, granulated sugar, salt, cornstarch and food coloring in a small saucepan.Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 5 minutes. Let cool down.
When the crust has cooled, pile the berries on the crust and pour the thickened glaze over them. Refrigerate until the frosting sets. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a whipped dessert topping.
