Cheese and Herb Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g bread flour
- 10g salt
- 10g instant yeast
- 30g unsalted butter, softened
- 300ml water
- 200g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 100g grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Olive oil, for brushing
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the butter and roughly 240ml of water. Gradually add the remaining water while mixing until you have a soft, cohesive dough.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Prepare Herb and Cheese Mixture:
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mozzarella, parmesan, parsley, basil, dill, and minced garlic.
- Shape the Bread:
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, about 1cm thick. Brush lightly with olive oil. Spread the cheese and herb mixture evenly over the dough.
- Starting from one long side, roll the dough up tightly to enclose the filling. Cut the roll into slices, about 2 inches thick.
- Second Rise:
- Place the slices cut side up, slightly spaced apart, on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover loosely with a damp cloth and let rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.
- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Brush the top of the bread with a bit more olive oil and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve:
- Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for a gooey cheese experience!
Conclusion:
This cheese and herb bread is perfect as a standalone snack or as a companion to your favorite meals, bringing a delightful herby touch and cheesy goodness to the table. Whether for a gathering or a family dinner, this bread is sure to impress!
