Cheesy Ground Beef Crunchwrap Supreme

Ingredients:

For the Beef Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) water

For the Wrap:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 4 small tostada shells (or tortilla chips)
  • 1 cup (240ml) nacho cheese sauce (or shredded cheddar cheese)
  • 1 cup (240ml) shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup (240ml) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • Optional: Jalapeño slices, hot sauce

Instructions:

Make the Beef Filling:

  1. Cook the Beef:
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add Onion and Garlic:
    • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Season:
    • Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Assemble the Wraps:

  1. Prepare the Tortillas:
    • Warm the flour tortillas slightly in the microwave or on a skillet to make them more pliable.
  2. Layer the Ingredients:
    • Lay one flour tortilla on a flat surface. In the center of the tortilla, layer 1/4 of the cooked beef mixture, a small handful of shredded cheese, and a tostada shell (or a layer of tortilla chips).
  3. Add the Toppings:
    • Spread some nacho cheese sauce over the tostada shell. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and a few jalapeño slices (if using).
  4. Fold the Tortilla:
    • Carefully fold the edges of the flour tortilla towards the center, creating pleats to form a closed wrap. If the tortilla doesn’t completely close, you can add a small piece of another tortilla to cover the gap.

Cook the Wraps:

  1. Heat a Skillet:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.
  2. Toast the Wraps:
    • Place the wrap seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden and crispy. Carefully flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Serve:
    • Remove from the skillet and repeat with the remaining wraps. Serve immediately with additional sour cream, hot sauce, or salsa on the side.

Enjoy your homemade cheesy ground beef crunchwrap supreme!
