Chocolate Frosted Brownies
Ingredients:
For the Brownies:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Make the Brownie Batter:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake the Brownies:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
- Prepare the Frosting:
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the cocoa powder and mix until well combined.
- Slowly add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, alternating with the milk. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Frost the Brownies:
- Once the brownies have cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
