Classic Peach Cobbler Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Peach Filling:
- 4 cups fresh or canned peach slices (drained if using canned)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
- Prepare the Oven and Pan:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the Batter:
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Prepare the Peach Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine the peach slices, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Mix well.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake the Cobbler:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has risen around the peaches.
- Serve:
- Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
