- Cook the filling:
- Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground pork and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and green onions, and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the shredded cabbage and carrots, and cook until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Assemble the egg rolls:
- Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface, with one corner pointing towards you (like a diamond shape).
- Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling near the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, then fold in the side corners towards the center, and roll tightly towards the top corner.
- Brush the top corner with a little beaten egg to seal the roll. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Fry the egg rolls:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the egg rolls from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve:
- Serve the egg rolls hot, with dipping sauces like sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or chili sauce.
These egg rolls are crispy on the outside with a flavorful, savory filling inside. They make a great appetizer or snack, perfect for parties or family gatherings. Enjoy!
