Crispy Cheese Balls Recipe

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped herbs (parsley or chives)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the cheese mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, Parmesan, flour, bread crumbs, chopped herbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape into balls:
    • Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
    • Place the balls on a tray and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat the balls:
    • Dip each cheese ball into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are well-coated.
    • Roll them in the bread crumbs for an even coating.
  4. Fry the cheese balls:
    • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the balls in small batches until golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per batch).
    • Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce (e.g., marinara, ranch, or spicy mayo).
