Decadent Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks (divided)
- Additional melted chocolate for drizzling (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt Butter and Sugar:
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the sugar and stir to combine. Continue heating, but do not let it come to a boil. Remove from heat once the mixture is hot and the sugar starts to dissolve.
- Combine Wet Ingredients:
- Transfer the butter and sugar mixture to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix well to combine.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add Dry Ingredients:
- Gradually add the flour to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Add Chocolate Chips:
- Fold in 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chips or chunks into the batter.
- Bake the Brownies:
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Drizzle:
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, drizzle with additional melted chocolate if desired.
