Fresh Homemade Salsa

 

Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar (to balance acidity if needed)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Dice the tomatoes and finely chop the red onion, jalapeño peppers, and cilantro. Mince the garlic cloves.
  2. Combine the Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, jalapeño peppers, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro.
  3. Season the Salsa:
    • Squeeze the lime juice over the salsa mixture.
    • Add salt and pepper to taste. If the salsa is too acidic, you can add a teaspoon of sugar to balance the flavors.
  4. Mix and Chill:
    • Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
    • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salsa for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve the fresh homemade salsa with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
