Fried S’mores Sandwich Recipe

 

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying

Filling:

  • 1 jar marshmallow cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate spread
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Toppings:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
    • Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for a few minutes.
    • Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
    • Cut the dough into rectangles or squares, roughly the size of a s’more (about 3×3 inches).
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Spread a generous layer of marshmallow cream on half of the dough pieces.
    • Top the marshmallow layer with chocolate chips or spread.
    • Place another piece of dough on top to form a sandwich.
    • Press the edges together to seal.
  3. Fry the Sandwiches:
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
    • Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
    • Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
    • Remove from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
  4. Add the Toppings:
    • While the sandwiches are still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
    • Drizzle with chocolate syrup.
  5. Serve:
    • Stack the sandwiches on a plate for a dramatic presentation.
    • Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, chocolatey goodness!
