Fried S’mores Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
Filling:
- 1 jar marshmallow cream
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate spread
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
Toppings:
- Powdered sugar
- Chocolate syrup
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for a few minutes.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into rectangles or squares, roughly the size of a s’more (about 3×3 inches).
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Spread a generous layer of marshmallow cream on half of the dough pieces.
- Top the marshmallow layer with chocolate chips or spread.
- Place another piece of dough on top to form a sandwich.
- Press the edges together to seal.
- Fry the Sandwiches:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Add the Toppings:
- While the sandwiches are still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup.
- Serve:
- Stack the sandwiches on a plate for a dramatic presentation.
- Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, chocolatey goodness!
