Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Herb Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
For the Steak Bites:
- 1.5 lbs (680 g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
For the Herb Mashed Potatoes:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
- Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter, milk, and sour cream to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the chopped chives and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
- Cook the Steak Bites:
- Season the steak bites with salt and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak bites to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic and butter to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the butter is melted and the garlic is fragrant.
- Toss the steak bites in the garlic butter to coat them evenly. Remove from heat.
- Serve:
- Plate the garlic butter steak bites and herb mashed potatoes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
