Golden Baked Cake

 

Ingredients:

For the Cake:
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 🧈
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs 🥚
  • 1 cup whole milk 🥛
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt 🧂
For the Golden Glaze (Optional):
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter 🧈
  • 1 tablespoon honey 🍯
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs & Vanilla: Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until smooth.
  6. Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool: Let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Glaze (Optional): Whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over the cooled cake.
