Grilled Lamb Chops
Ingredients:
- 8 lamb chops, about 1-inch thick
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: lemon wedges and fresh herbs
Instructions:
- Marinate the Lamb Chops:
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the lamb chops in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the lamb chops, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400-450°F).
- Grill the Lamb Chops:
- Remove the lamb chops from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Place the lamb chops on the preheated grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, and 150°F for well-done.
- Rest the Lamb Chops:
- Remove the lamb chops from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more tender and flavorful.
- Serve:
- Arrange the lamb chops on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh herbs if desired.
- Enjoy:
- Serve the grilled lamb chops with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
These grilled lamb chops are full of flavor and make a perfect main dish for any occasion. Enjoy the tender, juicy meat with the fresh and aromatic marinade.
