Homemade Meat Patties
Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef or mixed meat (beef and pork)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped or grated
- 1 medium carrot, grated (optional)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or soaked bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 2-3 tablespoons oil (for frying)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, eggs, grated onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, and grated carrot (if using).
- Add chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until the mixture is well-combined and sticky.
- Shape the Patties:
- With wet hands, form the mixture into small, flat patties or meatballs (about 2 inches in diameter).
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat 2-3 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve:
- Serve the meat patties warm with a side of mashed potatoes, rice, salad, or vegetables.
These patties are versatile and can be customized with different herbs, spices, or fillings. You can also bake them at 200°C (400°F) for about 20-25 minutes for a healthier option. Enjoy
