Honey Garlic Glazed Chicken Breast
Ingredients:
- For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- For the Sauce:
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- For Garnish:
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add it to the sauce. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Glaze the Chicken:
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them to coat well. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle the chicken with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
Tips:
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
- For a caramelized finish, broil the chicken in the oven for 2-3 minutes after glazing.
