King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danish
Ingredients:
For the Danishes:
1 package King’s Hawaiian Rolls (12 pieces), halved horizontally
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
For the Pineapple Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional:
Coconut flakes for garnish
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking pan. Make sure to split the entire package of
King’s Hawaiian Rolls in half horizontally, up and down. Place bottom half on prepared plate.
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and eggs until smooth and creamy.
Divide cheesecake mixture evenly over bottom layer of Hawaiian Rolls in baking dish.
Place the top half of the roll on top of the cheesecake and press gently.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheesecake is set and the top of the roll is light golden brown.
While the Danish is cooking, whisk together the powdered sugar, pineapple juice, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
When the Danish has finished cooking, remove it from the oven and immediately sprinkle with pineapple juice. Sprinkle some shredded coconut on top for a tropical touch, if desired.
