Instructions

  1. Bake the cake layers: Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions. Divide the batter evenly into two 9×13 pans (or bake in one and slice in half horizontally once cooled). Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.

  2. Prepare the lemon filling: In a medium bowl, whisk together the lemon pudding mixes and cold milk until thickened. Stir in lemon curd if using for extra flavor. Refrigerate until ready to assemble.

  3. Make the cream layer: Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Fold in the whipped topping gently to create a light, fluffy cream mixture.
