Loaded French Fries Casserole

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup dill pickles, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cook French Fries: Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Prepare Beef Mixture:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Once the fries are done, lower the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked French fries.
    • Spread half of the ground beef mixture over the fries.
    • Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
    • Add a layer of diced pickles and diced tomatoes.
    • Repeat the layers with the remaining fries, beef mixture, and cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake the Casserole: Place the assembled casserole in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional diced pickles and tomatoes if desired.
