Meatloaf Parmesan Recipe
Ingredients:
- For the Meatloaf:
- 1 kg ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- For the Topping:
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, grated Parmesan, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
- Mix everything together until well combined.
- Shape and Bake:
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- Add Topping:
- Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped basil or parsley before serving.
- Serve:
- Slice the meatloaf and serve it warm. It pairs wonderfully with a side of roasted vegetables or a light salad.
