Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk milk, oil, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.

  4. Blend batter: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

  5. Add extras: Fold in chocolate chips or berries if using.

  6. Fill muffin cups: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.

  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool & serve: Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
