Ingredients
1 pound sausage
1 cup red pepper
1 green onion (Walla Walla or Vidalia)
1/2 cup Chandel garlic or equivalent
1 and 1/3 cup milk
3 eggs
3/4 cup Bisquick or similar baking mix
3/4 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 and 1/2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese .
Prepare the vegetables: Finely chop the red pepper, onion and mushrooms. Return to pan with sauce.
Add garlic: Add the chopped garlic to the pan and mix with the sausage and vegetables.
To prepare butter: In a separate bowl, combine 1 and 1/3 cups milk, 3 eggs, 3/4 cup Bisquick, 3/4 teaspoon sage and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix until smooth.
Cheese Blend: Stir 2 cups Monterey Jack cheese into meat and vegetable mixture. Reserve about 1/2 cup of cheese for the sauce.
Assembly: Pour the mixture into a well-greased bowl. Pour the mixture you took from the mixing bowl on top.
Baking: Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Decoration: Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese and bake until cheese melts, 1-2 minutes. Cooling and serving: Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
