Oat and Date Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Melted dark chocolate (for coating)
  • Crushed nuts (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • Blend the rolled oats in a food processor until they resemble coarse flour.
    • Add the pitted dates, cocoa powder, honey (if using), and salt. Blend until the mixture becomes sticky and holds together when pressed.
  2. Form the Truffles:
    • Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  3. Coat with Chocolate:
    • Dip each ball into melted dark chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
    • Place them on parchment paper to set.
  4. Garnish:
    • Sprinkle crushed nuts or a topping of your choice (like coconut flakes) on top before the chocolate hardens.
  5. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the truffles for at least 20 minutes or until the chocolate is set.
  6. Serve:
    • Place them in small paper liners for presentation and enjoy as a healthy, energy-packed treat!
