Pan-Seared Lemon Butter Fish
Ingredients:
- 4 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or haddock)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- Prepare the Fish:
- Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme.
- Heat the Pan:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Cook the Fish:
- Place the fish fillets in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. The fish should flake easily with a fork.
- Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the unsalted butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the lemon slices to the skillet and cook for another minute, until the lemon slices are slightly caramelized and the garlic is golden.
- Combine and Garnish:
- Return the fish fillets to the skillet and spoon the lemon butter sauce over the fish.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro.
- Serve:
- Serve the pan-seared fish with lemon wedges on the side. This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
