Pan-Seared Lemon Butter Fish

Ingredients:

  • 4 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or haddock)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:
    • Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme.
  2. Heat the Pan:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Cook the Fish:
    • Place the fish fillets in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through. The fish should flake easily with a fork.
    • Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  4. Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, add the unsalted butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
    • Add the lemon slices to the skillet and cook for another minute, until the lemon slices are slightly caramelized and the garlic is golden.
  5. Combine and Garnish:
    • Return the fish fillets to the skillet and spoon the lemon butter sauce over the fish.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the pan-seared fish with lemon wedges on the side. This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your delicious pan-seared lemon butter fish, perfect for a flavorful and elegant meal!
