Pasta with Meat Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound farfalle pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the farfalle according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water for later.
  2. Make the Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
    • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink.
    • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar (if using), basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for 20-30 minutes, letting the flavors meld. If the sauce thickens too much, adjust the consistency with the reserved pasta water.
  3. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
    • Toss the cooked pasta with the meat sauce until evenly coated.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve the pasta hot, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.

This dish is a perfect example of simple ingredients coming together to create a fulfilling meal that is both easy to make and delicious. It’s great for a family dinner and is sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike. Enjoy your meal
