Patty Melts with Secret Sauce
How to prepare the burgers:
1 pound ground beef
7 pieces rye bread 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
half teaspoon garlic powder
Season with salt and pepper.
Cheddar cheese, 6 slices
6 thin slices provolone
6 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
Secret sauce calls for ½ cup mayonnaise.
2 tablespoons chopped bacon
3/4 cup tomato sauce

Secret Sauce Patty Melt
Divide the meat into three flat patties the size and shape of bread slices.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to taste and coat the meat well on both sides.Cook the burgers until no longer pink in the center, about 10 minutes per side. Remove from pan.
Combine all sauce ingredients and stir until well combined while meat cooks.
After cleaning the pan, reduce the heat to medium and cook the meat.
Make sure to butter each slice of bread.Toast three slices of bread in a pan, butter side down.
Place a beef patty, two pieces of cheddar cheese, two slices of provolone cheese and two slices of bread on each slice.
Before placing the remaining pieces of bread, sauce side down, on the burger melting in the pan, spread a small amount of sauce on the non-buttered sides.
Once one side of the bun is nicely toasted and the provolone is melted, flip the burger.
Once all sides of the bread are toasted, it is ready to serve.
