Penne Pasta with Beef and Peppers
Ingredients:
For the Beef:
- 1 pound beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Pasta:
- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for a creamier sauce)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned on all sides. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

- Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Combine Everything:
- Add the cooked beef back into the skillet with the vegetables.
- Stir in the cooked penne pasta and mix until everything is well combined.
- If using, add the heavy cream and stir to incorporate.
- Season with red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper to taste.
- Serve:
- Garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
