Pineapple Sundae with Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks (or canned pineapple chunks, drained)
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- Whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- Optional: Maraschino cherries for garnish
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- If using fresh pineapple, cut it into small chunks. If using canned pineapple, make sure to drain it well.
- Crush graham crackers into crumbs if not using pre-made crumbs.
2. Assemble the Sundae:
- In a sundae glass or a bowl, place a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom.
- Add a layer of pineapple chunks over the ice cream.
- Sprinkle a layer of graham cracker crumbs over the pineapple.
- Drizzle some caramel sauce over the graham cracker crumbs.
- Repeat the layers with another scoop of vanilla ice cream, pineapple chunks, graham cracker crumbs, and caramel sauce until you reach the top of the glass.
3. Add the Toppings:
- Top the sundae with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
- Drizzle more caramel sauce over the whipped cream.
- Garnish with additional pineapple chunks, graham cracker crumbs, and a maraschino cherry if desired.
4. Serve:
- Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy!
Tips:
- For a tropical twist, you can add shredded coconut or use coconut ice cream instead of vanilla.
- For a bit of crunch, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts on top.
- To make homemade whipped cream, beat 1 cup of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
