Pizza Lasagna Recipe

 

 

 

Ingredients

For the Layers:

  • 12 lasagna sheets (cooked as per package instructions)
  • 2 cups (500 g) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (100 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups (700 ml) marinara or pizza sauce
  • 2 cups (400 g) cooked ground beef or sausage (seasoned with Italian spices)
  • 1 cup (200 g) pepperoni slices
  • 2 cups (400 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

For Toppings:

  • Extra mozzarella cheese
  • Slices of pepperoni
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Pre-cook lasagna sheets and lay them flat on a towel to prevent sticking.
  • Brown the ground beef or sausage in a pan, seasoning with Italian spices like oregano, basil, garlic powder, and salt.

2. Assemble the Pizza Lasagna:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a deep round or rectangular baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom to prevent sticking.
  3. Place a lasagna sheet as the base layer.
  4. Add a layer of ricotta cheese, followed by a layer of ground beef, a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella and cheddar, and a drizzle of marinara sauce.
  5. Add slices of pepperoni on top of the cheese.
  6. Repeat the layering process, alternating lasagna sheets, ricotta, meat, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni until you fill the dish or run out of ingredients.
  7. End with a generous layer of marinara sauce and top with extra mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.

3. Bake:

  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil (to prevent the cheese from burning) and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden.

4. Garnish and Serve:

  • Remove from the oven and let the pizza lasagna cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil for an extra pop of flavor.

Tips:

  • For a crispier edge, sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan on the topmost layer of cheese.
  • Customize the fillings with your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, or pineapple.
  • Use a springform pan for easy removal if you want a tall, cake-like presentation.
