Potato Cutlets Stuffed with Meat

Ingredients:

For the Potato Dough:

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

For the Meat Filling:

  • 200g ground beef or chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For Coating & Frying:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling: Heat oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground meat, cook until browned, then season with salt, pepper, and cumin. Stir in parsley and set aside to cool.
  2. Make the Potato Dough: In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes with egg, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and paprika. Knead until smooth.
  3. Shape the Cutlets: Take a small portion of potato dough, flatten it in your hand, add a spoonful of meat filling, then seal and shape into patties.
  4. Coat & Fry: Dip each cutlet into beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
