Potato Rosti Rolls
Ingredients:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 100g cheddar cheese, grated (optional)
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
- Oil for frying or butter for baking
Instructions:
- Prepare Potatoes: Grate the potatoes and place them in a clean cloth. Squeeze out as much moisture as possible to ensure they get crispy when cooked.
- Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the grated potatoes with the egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Add grated cheese if you like for extra flavor and richness.
- Form Rolls: Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a log or roll. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
- Cook:
- For frying: Heat oil in a pan and fry each roll until golden and crispy on all sides.
- For baking: Place rolls on a greased baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 20-25 minutes or until crispy and golden.
