Shepherd’s Pie Inspired Dish

✔ For the Meat Filling:

500g ground beef or lamb

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup beef broth

✔ For the Mashed Potatoes:

6 large potatoes, peeled and chopped

50g butter

1/2 cup milk

Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Mashed Potatoes: Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.
2️⃣ Make the Meat Filling: Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery until softened. Add the ground meat and cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens. Stir in peas.

3️⃣ Assemble the Dish: Spread the meat filling evenly in a baking dish. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
4️⃣ Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the Shepherd’s Pie for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
