Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs
Ingredients:
4 pounds pork ribs
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups ketchup
1 cup chili sauce
½ cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons dried thyme
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 hot sauce
Preparation:
Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°C.
Seasoned and brown ribs:
Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow pan.
Place the ribs in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then turn over and roast for another 15 minutes. This process helps seal in the juices.
After roasting, remove excess fat from the ribs.
Prepare the barbecue sauce:
In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of hot sauce. Stir well so that everything is mixed well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Slow Cooker: Place
Brown ribs in your slow cooker.
Pour the prepared barbecue sauce over the ribs, make sure they are well coated.
Turn the ribs thoroughly in the sauce.
Slow Cooker: Cover the
slow cooker and set to Low for 6 to 8 hours. Longer cooking times make the ribs more tender and allow the flavors to penetrate deeper.
Serving size:
Once the ribs are cooked through and cooked through, they are ready to serve. You can enjoy it alone or with coleslaw, cornbread, or your favorite barbecue.
