Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Avocado Mousse
- In a bowl, mash the avocados until smooth.
- Add lime juice, olive oil, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Mix well until creamy. For extra smoothness, blend in a food processor.
- Chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Assemble the Dish
- Using a round food ring or mold, layer the avocado mousse at the bottom and press lightly to compact.
- Arrange the smoked salmon slices on top, folding them into delicate waves for a stylish look.
Step 3: Garnish
- Drizzle olive oil over the salmon and sprinkle with chili flakes and/or capers, if desired.
- Garnish with fresh dill or chives and a light sprinkle of matcha powder for visual effect.
Step 4: Serve
- Carefully remove the food ring/mold and serve as an appetizer or light entrée.
- Pair with toasted bread, crackers, or a light salad.
Tips:
- Substitute smoked salmon with sushi-grade raw salmon for a tartare variation.
- Add a dollop of crème fraîche or sour cream on top for a creamy twist.
- Serve with lemon wedges for added freshness.
