Spiced Garlic Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Shrimp:
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside.
- Mix the Spices:
- In a small bowl, combine the paprika, smoked paprika (if using), ground cumin, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook the Shrimp:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle the spice mixture over them. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough.
- Add Lemon Juice:
- Once the shrimp are cooked, squeeze the lemon juice over them and give everything a quick stir to combine.
- Serve:
- Transfer the spiced garlic shrimp to a serving platter.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
