Steak Bites and Eggs Recipe

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your choice), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2-4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, for a bit of heat

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    • Season the steak bites with salt and pepper.
    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Cook the Steak Bites:
    • Add the steak bites to the hot skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
    • Add the minced garlic and thyme leaves during the last minute of cooking, stirring to coat the steak bites with the aromatic flavors.
    • Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Eggs:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter.
    • Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your preference (sunny side up, over easy, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.
    • If you like a bit of spice, sprinkle some red pepper flakes on the eggs.
  4. Assemble and Serve:
    • Plate the steak bites and eggs together.
    • Garnish with additional thyme if desired and serve immediately.
