Steak Bites and Eggs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your choice), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2-4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes, for a bit of heat
Instructions:
- Prepare the Steak:
- Season the steak bites with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook the Steak Bites:
- Add the steak bites to the hot skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Add the minced garlic and thyme leaves during the last minute of cooking, stirring to coat the steak bites with the aromatic flavors.
- Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Eggs:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter.
- Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your preference (sunny side up, over easy, etc.). Season with salt and pepper.
- If you like a bit of spice, sprinkle some red pepper flakes on the eggs.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Plate the steak bites and eggs together.
- Garnish with additional thyme if desired and serve immediately.
