Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Strawberries:

  • In a bowl, combine the strawberries and sugar. Let them sit for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries have released their juices and the sugar has dissolved.

2. Mash the Strawberries:

  • Use a fork or potato masher to lightly mash the strawberries to your desired consistency. You can leave some larger pieces for texture or mash them completely for a smoother mixture.

4. Fold the Ingredients:

  • Spoon the mixture into serving dishes or a large serving bowl. Refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld and the fool to set slightly.
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving if desired.
