Surf and Turf Noodle Bowl Recipe

 

Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Noodles:

  • 8 oz rice noodles or any preferred noodles
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

For the Soft-Boiled Eggs:

  • 2 large eggs

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Steak:

  • Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Rub the steak with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Grill the steak for 4-5 minutes per side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  • Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

2. Prepare the Shrimp:

  • In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side or until they are pink and opaque.
  • Remove from the grill and set aside.

3. Prepare the Noodles:

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and red bell pepper, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and hoisin sauce.
  • Add the cooked noodles and toss to coat them evenly with the sauce mixture.
  • Stir in the chopped green onions and sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

4. Prepare the Soft-Boiled Eggs:

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently lower the eggs into the water.
  • Boil for 6-7 minutes for a soft-boiled egg.
  • Remove the eggs and place them in an ice bath to cool. Peel the eggs and set aside.

5. Assemble the Dish:

  • In a large serving bowl, arrange the sliced steak, grilled shrimp, and noodles.
  • Add the soft-boiled eggs, cut in half.
  • Garnish with additional chopped green onions if desired.
