Sweet Recipe: Vanilla Cream Roulade

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Optional: fruit preserves or fresh berries

  1. Make the Sponge:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, beat egg yolks with sugar until thick.
    • Fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture gently. Sift in flour and fold until just combined.
    • Spread batter on a lined baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Filling:
    • Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  3. Assemble the Roulade:
    • Once the sponge is cool, spread with whipped cream (add berries or preserves if desired).
    • Roll the sponge up tightly.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.
    • Dust with powdered sugar or sprinkle with spice before serving.
