Sweet Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions:
- Prepare the dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Beat until smooth.
- Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough:
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Prepare the filling:
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the rolls:
- Punch down the risen dough. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the cinnamon-sugar butter mixture evenly over the dough.
- Starting from the long side, roll the dough into a tight log. Cut into 12-15 equal slices.
- Place the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cut side down. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the rolls:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool and serve:
- Let the rolls cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
