Ingredients:

 

For the dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
    • Add the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Beat until smooth.
    • Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough:
    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the filling:
    • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the rolls:
    • Punch down the risen dough. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
    • Spread the cinnamon-sugar butter mixture evenly over the dough.
    • Starting from the long side, roll the dough into a tight log. Cut into 12-15 equal slices.
    • Place the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cut side down. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake the rolls:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Cool and serve:
    • Let the rolls cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
