Watermelon Lemonade
Ingredients:
- 4 cups watermelon, cubed and seeds removed
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Watermelon Juice:
- In a blender, puree the watermelon cubes until smooth.
- Strain the watermelon puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the pulp. Discard the pulp.
- Make the Lemonade:
- In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Combine and Mix:
- Add the lemon-sugar mixture to the watermelon juice in the pitcher.
- Pour in the cold water and stir well to combine.
- Serve:
- Fill glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the watermelon lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices and a watermelon wedge if desired.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate any leftover watermelon lemonade and stir well before serving again.
