Crispy Cheese Croquettes

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • Cheese Filling:
    • 250g mozzarella cheese (cut into sticks or blocks)
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)
  • Coating:
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 large eggs (beaten)
    • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Frying:
    • Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese:
    • Cut mozzarella cheese into sticks or rectangular blocks, as seen in the image.
    • Optional: Sprinkle the cheese with parsley for added flavor.
  2. Set Up Coating Stations:
    • Place flour in one shallow bowl.
    • Beat eggs in another bowl.
    • Mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
  3. Coat the Cheese:
    • Roll each cheese stick in flour, ensuring it is evenly coated.
    • Dip it into the beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs. For an extra crispy coating, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps.
  4. Chill:
    • Place the coated cheese sticks on a tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
  5. Fry:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the cheese sticks in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch dip, or your favorite condiment for dipping.
